JD Information Technology Manager

NaturEner was established in 1999 in Spain and launching US and Canadian operations in 2006, NaturEner is primarily engaged in the ownership, development and operation of renewable generation projects.

Our goal is to be a leading, diversified renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) across different green energy technologies and geographies. We operate in a rapidly growing energy sector, which benefits from increasing demand for clean power generation and regulatory support. NaturEner’s portfolio projects are located in North America and Europe.

The IT Manager is reponsible for the USA and Canadian Information Technology infrastracture in partnership with IT Manager in Spain. Additionally, this position will work closely with outside IT consulting company to ensure the company-wide IT program are, etc. This role will ensure all IT systems are functioning at optimal levels and in accordance to departmental requirements. This position requires multiple skill sets including: IT system & network architect, develop, implement and support the IT needs at the wind farm portfolio. This position reports to NaturEner’s CEO.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure, Operations, and Support

• Develop, implement and maintain IT infrastructure (networks, SCADA, database, communication lines, etc.) for all NaturEner offices & projects
• Act as the company’s primary interface with corporate partners and vendors on all IT related issues
• Coordinate and manage third-party vendors
• Design, Implement and support Enterprise Content Management system
• Support the NaturEner Operations Center systems and data feeds
• Continual improvement and upkeep of corporate web and social presences (Website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) as well as manage Press Release IT functions.
• Assist, coordinate and/or manage all aspects integrating the IT systems of a new wind project
• Provide for security and recovery, with a clear backup strategy
• Coordinate On call & emergencies (24/7/365) with outside IT consulting company
• Thorough documentarion of all IT policies and procedures; creation of user guides and manuals
• Daily System Monitoring: Perform & monitor daily backups
• Troubleshoot and investigate all issues to resolution working with a variety of user skill levels.
• Troubleshoot/fix/install, debug, maintain, upgrade server/workstation issues for all offices
• Maintain knowledge of server management tools and technologies; work to improve performance & reliability while saving money
• Ability to script in order to automate server tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned

Planning

• Collect and review system data to design hardware and software capacity needs with consideration of a 3 year planning cycle. Elicit key user and department input
• Manage annual budget for corporate and wind project IT expenditures
• Develop and implement a disaster contingency plan
• Define and review IT system standards and usage policies; augment and document as needed
• Research, evaluate, and recommend system technologies to support business requirements

Users

• Support user IT requests for help, training, problem troubleshooting & resolution
• Create, edit, and delete user accounts across all platforms as necessary
• Coordinate with internal and external project managers, web developers, and database/application programmers
• Ensure secure user connectivity to the system both inside and outside the office

Technical Skill Requirements

Expert understanding of:

• Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2008 R2 & 2003) & Workstation Operating systems (8.1, 7 & XP)

• Network design, WAN technologies, firewalls, routers and security policies, WLAN setup, maintenance and support
• Watchguard Firewall experience is a plus
• VPN & RADIUS technologies
• OPC and OPC communications at power production facilities; understanding of IEC 61400-25
• Unitrends backup administration and monitoring
• Ability to troubleshoot & replace faulty computer hardware components
• Experience with Enterprise Content Management design/implementation
• System & application performance analysis and improvement
• Anti-virus & anti-spam standards and methodologies; threat remediation and user education
• Software patching methodologies – Windows, Linux & Apple, other applications
• Basic HTML5, CSS & Web content management (Joomla 2.5);
• Understand web design principles
• Mobile device management solutions, policies & procedures
• Apple OSX maintenance and troubleshooting
• IT Project management and vendor management
• Technical documentation for designs, budget and user manuals

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years system architecture & administration experience
• Microsoft System Administration/ System Engineer Certification
• Cisco Certification (s)
• Flexible schedule and ability to travel (10%)
